Sis. Claudia and
Homelessness in Berlin: Where do you go when
you need medical care, if you don't have any money left for food, you've lost your warm jacket?
The health center Jenny de la Torre Foundation,
in the middle of Berlin, is a contact point for 50 to
80 homeless people on a daily basis!
Amongst the helpers are voluntary doctors, social workers and lawyers, in order to advise and render their support. But also voluntary hair dressers or photographers are used every now and then. Great! They also conduct regular festivities, such as their summer garden party, as well as a Spring/Fall and Christmas Dinner.
The foundation depends on material donations,
such as clothes, shoes, blankets and backpacks that are stored and given out upon request.
But of course money donations that are used for
daily duties towards the homeless.
The PFF congregation supports the Jenny de la Torre Foundation for many years with regular donations
of clothes, especially during the cold seasons but
also with local ”manpower“, e.g. at their yearly summer festivity!
Should you have any more questions please feel free to contact either Sis. Claudia or Sis. Katharina from the PFF congregation.
